achieving goals

The reason most people fail is because they don’t follow through and take action.

Here are 3 simple practices to make sure you take action and achieve your dreams!

1 – Be perfectly imperfect

It’s easy to get caught up in your head waiting for the perfect or right moment.  The only problem with that is that you might be waiting forever.  The best way to overcome perfectionism is realize that it’s an impossible goal and to be open to making mistakes.  Remember…

The only person who never makes mistakes is the person who never does anything – Denis Waitley

2 – Drop Comparison

Comparing yourself to other people is the quickest way to unhappiness.  It is way better to let yourself be inspired by another person’s success and let that motivate you.   Take it as a sign that if they can do it– so can you! Push through your doubt and fear of not being good enough.  You have a unique gift to share with the world!

Comparison is the thief of joy. ~ Theodore Roosevelt

3 – Develop thicker skin

Do you let yourself get swayed by other people’s opinions or judgments?  Do you worry about what other people think of you?  You can’t please everyone and achieve greatness – in order to achieve anything meaningful you will have to raise a few eyebrows.  Learn to see criticism as a sign that you have the courage to share your ideas with the world.

Every great idea that changed the world came from someone who was brave enough to call for it.  ~ Sylvia Boorstein
