I love my job and I’m so grateful for it every day but I didn’t create my life coaching business overnight and it is still a work in progress.
I’m often asked about my coaching practice- how to get started and tips for people just starting out.. so for today’s post i thought I would share my top 3 tips for anyone looking to start their own coaching business!
1) Know who you serve & what makes you unique
This doesn’t necessarily happen for people overnight and it certainly didn’t for me. It took me a couple years to realize what kind of life coach I was and how I was unique from other life coaches.
I spent time doubting that uniqueness and thinking I needed to fit into what other people were doing. Once I let that go and started to accept myself and share that as authentically as possible I noticed a huge increase in business… and confidence!
2) Don’t copy what other people are doing
This is kind of an extension of the first point and I know it’s a tempting thing to do especially if you are just starting out.
Remember it doesn’t come off as authentic and people can totally tell. If anything just commit to discovering what makes you unique, trust that you ARE unique and when you discover it just flaunt it!
3) Persistence is everything
I was about to write a tip about marketing and branding and then I changed my mind. Why? Because all those business-tips are helpful but not nearly as important to your success as persistence. Sorry if it sounds cliche but.. it’s true!
You WILL feel discouraged and you will want to give up but you will need to stay committed to growing and learning in order to be successful. If you can stay the course despite disappointment after disappointment you will create success in this industry. It’s only a matter of time.
All of the lessons you will learn will come through making mistakes so don’t be afraid to make them – they are valuable gifts so keep on keepin’ on!
If you’re looking to start a business in coaching or any other business it’s important to stay true to you and your message. Authenticity is THE KEY here. If you can connect to your authentic voice, hustle, and stay persistent then you will create a successful business that is fulfilling and rewarding to you and whomever you serve.
